Why early Socialization and Training are important.

I have been a breeder for over 8 years. During this time I have learned the importance of early socialization and training. For the last year I have followed the Puppy Culture program for puppies 0-12 weeks. It has made a huge difference not only in my puppies but in my ability to communicate with them. Early socialization done correctly between 0-12 creates adventurous, confident puppies who are ready for puppy classes/training. I am currently taking the Puppy Start Right for Instructors course though Karyn Pryor academy. This course teaches the importance of early socialization for puppies 8-16 weeks and how to teach the information to new puppy families. I hope to use this knowledge not only for my breeding program but with all interested new puppy families to help prevent and reduce behavior issues before they start. Puppy classes give your puppy a great foundation and help you understand normal puppy behavior, common puppy issues and how to work with your puppy to overcome them while introducing training basics like, sit, down, stay, walk on a leash, etc. I firmly believe that this is the best way to keep puppies in homes and out of shelters. I am excited to gain the knowledge to not only use on my puppies but to offer puppy classes to new puppy parents. Please feel free to follow me on my journey as I take the class and start this new chapter in my life. -Missy
